Co-locating with GDC-Canada this year is the 1st Annual Canadian Videogame Awards, which will be held the evening of May 5th at the Vancouver Convention Centre in Vancouver, BC. This event will honour and celebrate the best and brightest in Canadian games, computer animation and visual effects. It will be a great, fun, fast paced night featuring Canadian hosts and presenters, as well as internationally renowned musical talent. Canadians are masters of their craft when it comes to making games, visual effects and computer animation. They work tirelessly to build terrific entertainment, which then becomes a world class export that the entire planet consumes and is thrilled by. This year Future Play will be held concurrently but as a separate event from GDC Canada, and will focus on future game design theory and technology, future game impacts and applications, and future game design talent.
